Esta es una localidad que cuenta con atractivos arquitectónicos y naturales.

Sin embargo, por lo que más se distingue es por el hecho de que ha podido preservar las tradiciones de la cultura maya.

Sus accesos están adornados por una serie de arcos y se destaca un edificio de color azul y blanco que tiene un estilo Neomaya que alberga a las oficinas municipales.

Dentro de sus atractivos se encuentran: su agradable plaza principal con su tradicional kiosco, el Templo de Santiago Apóstol que data del siglo XVII, la Capilla de San Antonio, el Ex Convento e Iglesia de San Francisco del siglo XVI, la Capilla de Guadalupe del siglo XVIII y el Cenote El Pocito, un cenote cerrado al cual puedes acceder mediante una escalera y sus aguas son tan trasparente que sin problema puedes ver a los peces que lo habitan.

En Hunucmá se encuentran talleres de calzado artesanal en donde también se elaboran bolsas y sandalias en piel, cuero y fibra de henequén.

Se ubica a 48 km, aproximadamente a 50 minutos de Mérida.

Hunucmá is a location that has attractive architectural and natural features.  However, its most distinctive characteristic is that it has preserved traditions from the Mayan Culture.

Access streets to Hunucmá are ornamented by a series of arches and there is a blue and white Neo-Mayan building that holds the municipal offices.

Among its many attractions are: a very pleasant main plaza with a kiosk in its center, St. James the Apostle’s Temple which dates from the sixteenth century, the Chapel of St. Anthony, the San Francisco Ex-Convent and church from the sixteenth century, the Chapel of Guadalupe from the sixteenth century, and the El Pocito sinkhole.  This sinkhole is enclosed but it can be accessed through stairs and the water is so clear that you can see the fish that call it their home.

Hunucmá has artisanal cobbler shops, and they also make leather and agave fiber sandals and bags.

Hunucmá is located approximately 50 minutes away from Mérida.
